Attwell "Brick" Adair
August 31, 1930 - July 16, 2004

ATTWELL MASON ADAIR age 73, of Jupiter, Florida passed away suddenly Friday afternoon, July 16, 2004 in Kingsland, Georgia enroute home from a family reunion. Mr. Adair was born August 31, 1930 in Bourbon County, Kentucky son of the late Samuel Adair and Eula Mason Adair. He had been a resident of the Palm Beaches since 1986 coming from Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Adair was a graduate of the University of Kentucky school of Engineer receiving his B.S. degree in Engineering, and was a graduate of Ohio State University School of Engineering receiving his M.S. During the Korean Conflict he served his country with the U.S. Air Force, upon completion of his military services he was employed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a Metallurgist Engineer for 33 years of service. From 1954-1960, he was a Project Scientist, Metallurgy and Ceramics Research Lab, ARL. 1960-1967, he was a Research Metallurgist, Metallurgy and Ceramics Research Lab, ARL. In 1967 he became a metallurgist, Process and NDT Br, Metals and Ceramics Division, AFML. Later he became the Branch Chief, Metals Branch, Manufacturing Technology Division, AFRL, retiring from there in 1986. He relocated to the Palm Beaches and became an employee with Pratt-Whitney Aircraft as project engineer retiring in 1992. Mr. Adair was a member of the National and Palm Beach Model Railroaders Association, Paris Masonic Lodge F&AM, Paris, KY, American Legion Post #271, Tequesta, and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter/Tequesta since 1987 serving as Treasurer for many years. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years Mary Galloway Adair, his loving sons Jack Adair and his wife Penny of Sugarland, TX, and Jeffrey Adair and his wife Debra of Columbia, SC; his adored grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jr. (Mason), Robert, Trevor and Courtney; many nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends.
