AFMMAA Scholarships

AFMMAA provides merit-based scholarships to children and grandchildren of AFRL/RX civilian and military members. Two types of scholarships are awarded:

     • Chief Scientist's Scholarship, intended for recipients interested in

           scientific areas

     • Alumni Association Scholarship, intended for recipients interested in

           non-technical areas

The scholarship program is funded by contributions from AFMMAA members, helped in some cases by contributions from past scholarship awardees or their families. The purpose is to provide financial support to selected high school graduates who are family members of current AFRL/RX employees and are about to continue their college or university education to prepare for their future careers.

Any natural or adopted child or grandchild of a current AFRL/RX government (civilian or military) employee is eligible to apply for either of the two types of scholarships. The primary focus of the awards is to assist recent high school graduates about to enter their first year of an accredited two- or four-year college or university program. Scholarship recipients are selected by an AFMMAA awards committee, based on its evaluation of the submitted applications. Details of the eligibility and submittal requirements, together with an application form, are available using the links below.

Over almost 25 years, AFMMAA has given 74 awards

for a total of $76,000

Because the scholarship program is funded entirely by contributions from AFMMAA members and friends, we would be delighted to receive any additional financial support that would enhance our ability to continue this important function. Donated funds are 100% applied to scholarship awards.
