Albert Olevitch

OLEVITCH, Albert age 85 of Dayton, died, peacefully on Tuesday November 7, 2006

Al received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in 1943 and an M.S. Chemical Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, in 1946. Albert's life included making significant contributions as both the chief of the Materials and Engineering Branch, Materials Support Division, AFML at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he worked until his retirement and through his 30 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force. From 1949-51 he was a Senior Project Engineer of Preservation and Packaging Materials.  1951-53, Assistant Chief, Packaging Materials Branch.  From 1960-61 he was Chief, Packaging Branch.  1960-1962, Chief, Exploratory Processes Branch. 1962-64, Technical Manager, Specialty Materials Section. In 1964, he became Chief, Materials Engineering Branch, Materials Support Division.

Albert loved sports and in his youth played semi professional baseball and college football. He passed the love of sports down to his children and grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years whom he adored, Toby Rosenblatt Olevitch, Albert's legacy is his loving family who will miss him very much. His surviving children are Marti Cole and husband Dr. Bill Cole of Dayton, Janet Zaretsky and husband Lee Zaretsky of Austin, TX, Bill Olevitch and wife Ann of Atlanta, GA, Larry Olevitch and wife Sue of Palm Beach, FL, Sandy Olevitch and wife Laura of Minneapolis, MN.
