Robert (Bob) L. Rice, age 67, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in Punta Gorda, Florida. He was born December 15, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio. Bob graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School in Meadville, PA in 1963, graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA in 1967 and Ohio University in Athens, OH in 1969. He served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1982 and continued with the USAFR as an IMA at Wright-Patterson AFB until his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1992. He retired from his civilian career at WPAFB in January 2000. Bob was a long time Secretary of the Air Force Materials and Manufacturing Association. In addition, Bob was a member of Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church since April 24, 1983. He served on the Board of Education, Mad River Local Schools, from 1991-1999 during that time he served as President, Vice-President and a board member. Bob was a member of the Air Force Association (Life Member), American Legion Post #200 in Huber Heights, Ohio, Military Officers Association of America (Life Member), National Defense Industrial Association (Life Member), Reserve Officers’ Association (Life Member) and the Elks Lodge in Punta Gorda, Florida.
